In a heavily user-outreach focused project, Plantastic was a part of Real World Design Challenge, which prompted students to address issues that actually in need of a solution, i.e.,
"Design the right it before you design it"
How might we make a compact, cost-effective, all-encompassing plant survival kit for college-age people?
The project introduced the idea of pretotyping, a process that, precedes a prototype in order to make physical concepts as rapidly as possible
User outreach included interviews with college students from various backgrounds, followed by user outreach with conservatory goers, a group identified as likely to be a market for our product
